Welcome to 2018

Statistics in Room 6

Statistics is such a fun topic to start our Maths programme for the year! We have been gathering data, sorting data, making tally marks, pictograms, and graphs.
The first way we sorted our lunch boxes was (of course) according to colour.  We learnt a lovely new word 'transparent' for the people who had see-through lunch boxes.  We guessed that the most popular colour for lunch boxes would be pink....and we were right!

We noticed that our lunch boxes were 'zippers' or 'clippers' according to how they opened and closed.  So our next question was " I wonder if we have more zippers or clippers?" our lunch box graph on the floor was very quickly re-arranged so we could find out the answer.  If you want to know what we found out you'll have to ask your child or come and see the graph up on our wall.
